By downloading, installing, or using the ShelfLife mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

ShelfLife is a food management application that helps you:

  • Track pantry items and expiration dates
  • Scan grocery receipts to add items
  • Receive expiration reminders
  • Get AI-powered recipe suggestions
  • Plan meals and reduce food waste

3. Subscription Terms

Free Tier

The free version of ShelfLife provides limited access to features including a maximum number of pantry items, daily recipe suggestions, and saved recipes.

Premium Subscription

ShelfLife Premium is available as an auto-renewable monthly subscription. The subscription includes:

  • Unlimited pantry items
  • Unlimited AI recipe suggestions
  • Unlimited saved recipes
  • Advanced waste analytics
  • Meal planning features
  • Family sharing
  • Ad-free experience

Billing and Renewal

Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the same price.

Managing Your Subscription

You can manage and cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings. Any unused portion of a free trial period will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

4. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate information when using the App
  • Use the App only for its intended purpose
  • Not attempt to reverse engineer or modify the App
  • Not use the App for any unlawful purpose
  • Keep your account credentials secure

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that:

  • Receipt scanning will always be accurate
  • Expiration date estimates are precise
  • Recipe suggestions will match your preferences
  • The App will be error-free or uninterrupted

You are responsible for verifying food safety and expiration dates. ShelfLife is a tool to help you manage your food, not a substitute for your own judgment regarding food safety.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ShelfLife and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, food spoilage, or health issues arising from your use of the App.

7. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the App are owned by ShelfLife and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the App.

8. Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Terms in the App or on our website. Your continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

10. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.
